Dania

Cultural notes

  • Årsgång — Folk divination practice (Småland analogue): fast in darkness until midnight on Christmas or New Year's Eve, then perform a set of complex symbolic events to interpret signs encountered and foresee the coming year. Practised in some regions until the early 19th century RW.
