Book 01 status (through Ch 94)¶

Lady Karla proposed forming a company of elite archers because she is neither farmer nor content as a "perfumed Lady" if the Company will not adventure regularly. Sir Milos noted no woman has done such a thing before but expects Count Matthias and Queen Miri would support it.

By Day 122, eight men have expressed interest; Karla posted a notice in Haven before the Tournament and expects more applicants. Selection by contest: targets at twenty-five, fifty, and eighty paces; speed shots at twenty paces; strafing (lateral movement while shooting) at forty paces; endurance race to Bedford hamlet and back. No mounted-archery tests — Nystrians dismount to fight.

Karla may recruit ten men and two sergeants immediately if enough applicants arrive; prefers best archers over prior military service. Formal charter and the platoon roster above are not yet on-page in Book 01.
