Appearance

Slight build; steadier in bearing once freed and trained, though still wary when first encountered. Long, straight black hair parted in the middle, falling past the shoulders; dark brown eyes; fair skin with a warm undertone; neutral, composed expression.

Typical dress: Thin silver circlet across the forehead; brown leather breastplate with segmented pauldrons and rivets; large circular silver chest medallion; chainmail sleeves and high collar; leather straps and buckles across the torso.

Background

Zoë was born free in a small Nystrian village. Raiders killed her parents and took her south; at thirteen she was sold to Kranos, who abused and exploited her. She learned to endure by disappearing inside herself.

She is freed on Story Day 8 in the raid on Kranos's compound. Day 9: Matthias sends her to the Soaring Falcon with coin; Lisette and the band hire her for wages at Langford Manor (compound) once the estate is granted. Day 11: declines proffered concubine service; Matthias insists on paid staff and respect. Day 12: testifies at Kranos's conviction; becomes Matthias's lover on the eve of his wedding. Day 14: Lilia asks Matthias not to frequent Zoë too often. Day 20: her Gift is confirmed; Miriam begins training her. She trains with Lucas in archery and household work while the manor household expands.

Personality

Initially withdrawn and hypervigilant; slowly trusts when kindness is consistent. Observant and eager to learn once safe. Trauma from Kranos lingers; Miri and the household address it without rushing her.
